Neurosurgery for Patients From Across Punjab

Neurosurgery for patients from across Punjab starts, in Dr. Salman Falak's practice, with a WhatsApp message rather than a long journey. This approach lets a patient in Faisalabad, Multan, Sialkot or Sahiwal have the MRI reviewed and the options explained before leaving home. Its next steps are a video consultation, one planned visit to the nearest OPD, and surgery in Lahore when it is needed.

1

Send your MRI and reports

Send photos of the films or the CD report with a short note of your symptoms.

2

Video consultation

Dr. Salman Falak reviews the scan with you and explains the options.

3

Visit, surgery and follow-up

You visit the OPD in Lahore, Gujranwala or Phool Nagar, and follow-up can be done by video.

Who this page is for

This page is for families who live two, four or six hours from Lahore and are weighing up whether the journey is worth it. Back pain that shoots down a leg, a scan that mentions a disc or a tumour, an elderly parent with a spinal fracture, a child with fits: the questions are the same everywhere in Punjab, and most of them can be answered before anyone boards a bus.

How it works, step by step

  1. Send the reports. WhatsApp 0331 5555335 with photos of the MRI or CT films, or the report and the CD if you have them, plus two lines on the symptoms and your city.
  2. Video consultation. Dr. Salman Falak goes through the scan with you on a video call, explains what it shows and whether an operation is likely, and tells you which further tests, if any, to get done locally.
  3. One planned visit. You come to the nearest OPD, Lahore, Gujranwala on a Friday or Phool Nagar on a Tuesday, for the examination and the final decision.
  4. Surgery in Lahore. If surgery is advised, the date, the hospital and the expected stay are fixed so the family arrives once and goes home with the operation done.
  5. Follow-up by video. After the first wound check, most follow-up can be done from home on a video call.

Which OPD is nearest to you

Sialkot, Gujrat, Wazirabad, Daska and Hafizabad are closest to the Friday OPD in Gujranwala. Pattoki, Chunian, Okara and the Kasur side of Multan Road are served by the Tuesday OPD in Phool Nagar. Everyone else, including Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Multan, Sargodha and Bahawalpur, comes to Lahore, usually after a video consultation.

FAQ

Questions patients ask

How many times will I have to come to Lahore?

For most patients, once for the consultation and examination, and once for the operation if one is advised. When the consultation is done by video and the reports are complete, the two can sometimes be combined into a single trip. Follow-up is usually by video.

Can the decision to operate be made on the video call?

A clear opinion on the scan and the likely need for surgery can usually be given on video. A physical examination is still needed before an operation is booked, so one OPD visit follows the call.

How long will I stay in Lahore for surgery?

It depends on the operation. A disc operation through a small incision often means one night in hospital and a review within a few days; screw fixation or brain surgery needs a longer stay. The expected stay is explained at the consultation so the family can plan.

What if I cannot come on the OPD day for my area?

The Lahore OPDs run Monday to Saturday across three hospitals, so there is almost always a day that works. Tell us your city and the days you can travel and you will be given the nearest option.

Can I send the MRI on WhatsApp instead of bringing it?

Yes, and it is the best way to start. Photograph the films against a window or white light, or send the report and the CD contents, and bring the originals to the visit.

Send your MRI. Get a clear answer before you travel.

WhatsApp your reports and your city, and you will be told whether surgery is likely, which tests to bring, and which OPD is nearest to you.
